Lost and Found

I went yesterday to pick up my "happy" to myself from the framers.
I am so happy with how it turned out and to have found the pefect home for it.

I love how the aquas work beautifully with the Chaing Mai pillow and the darker teals are perfect shade for my sofa. But really I love how the dog looks like Frida. It is really a gorgeous piece of art.. and one day I would love an original!
Please go shop her etsy page.. She is still running her "honeymoon special"!

And on a sidenote.. if you have ever thought of getting a dog, and you have time for one, think about adopting. No way will your dog be as cool as Frida, but he or she will always be so grateful to you.
It's a pretty great love.

Hunting Camp- Almost There

This has been one of my favorite projects I have worked on. Ever.

And the bar was probably my favorite part... other than hanging my first turkey.
We recovered the plaid sofa in a rich blue and added these huge leather wingbacks.
The perfect place for a glass of scotch, right?

The space has two sunrooms off the front. One is more of a sitting area with the original leather chesterfield and the other is a game or meeting room.

3000 nailheads.
I might have to give the upholsterer a break for a while.

The main living area is still waiting on a mantle, tv and accessories.
But it is almost there.. and I am pretty pleased.

Random Monday

I'm working on editing photos from a project I have just *almost* finished (still waiting on 3 barstools). Hopefully I can post them tomorrow..
Until then, this was my view while driving out to the place...

So lucky to be from here.
What a beautiful place.

This project will also go down as being the one that killed the staple gun. It was a sad moment. We have been together since college. 15 years.

I hope everyone has an awesome Monday. I'm still wishing for a continuation of my one day weekend. I fit as much as I could in that one day though...

See you tomorrow!

Go Forth and Shop

A quick trip yesterday though my favorite crazy store, David's Interiors, led to some super cool pieces that I felt the need to share with you.
Only because I do not need them and feel they deserve a good home.

Everyone needs a bar cart. And this is a good heavy one. I actually thought about buying it and keeping it in storage. I still might.

This set is complete awesomeness. The pulls are beautiful. If you need these refinished or painted, I would be more than happy to help you out.

The dressing table.
It is pretty stunning in person. And includes a clipping from a 1972 Greenwood Commonwealth.

Basic but heavy.
Go Forth and Shop this Friday!
If you buy any of these, let me know..
I would love to see what you do with it.

I Need Help

I can't stop thinking about it.
I really need to get a life.

Or just pick some out.
Butler's Pantry and Guest Bath.
Tag Team... Go!

Anthropologie has come out with some super cool designs.

First two are seriously weird, I know. I want something very different though.
In my perfect world.. I would find this in a wallpaper.

Anyone? I really need to get some work done today!

I would like to thank the Academy.....

It's a big day, ladies and gentlemen..
I won an award.

This was bestowed upon me by one of my favorites, Mary of Burning it Down.
Lucky for me, she married a Greenville boy a few years back and the two of them grace the Delta every so often. It makes me super happy, and I usually have a small (big) headache the next day but plenty to laugh about.
Her blog is hi-larious. Girl tells it exactly how it is.
Her "Drink Recipe of the Week" should be made into a book.
(Lets talk about this.. I can do the illustrations.. and taste testing.)

SO.. back to me. I am thrilled to accept this honorable award, though I had to Google it to find out what on earth it was for.

"The origins of the Liebster Blog award are somewhat unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany, Liebster meaning favourite or dearest, to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting the award the recipient can then pass it on to five more blogs of note. A way of introducing other bloggers to the blogs you enjoy."

You love me.
You really love me.

I'm passing on that love to my favorites.
First, to Laura Merrill of Decorating the Elevator.
Not only is she hilarious, but is a great cook, a really fabulous seamstress and an all around bad ass with great taste in music. And happily is a great friend to me!

Second, to Katherine of Southern Bourbon Mountains.
I do not know this girl, but I feel like we would be great friends.
We could, at least, talk Saints and cocktail napkins.
Over drinks.

And Third to Mary Straton {now} of  Olive You, Darling.
I love love love her Wednesday Wish Lists,
though they are super tempting on the wallet.

So there you go...
3 more fabulous blogs to stalk, if you aren't already.
Congrats Girls! And share the love!

A Case of the Wants: Pillow Edition

I truely truely truely do not need more pillows in my life.
I just don't know what it is though... I see them and imagine the perfect spot in my home for them and the ones I have just don't cut it anymore...

Still considering this for my sofa. I'm 90% sure I don't need another pillow there, but man that 10% says "Buy 2!!!"

Dining Room chairs, sofa, bedroom chairs....
These would just rotate around the house making everything happy.

Turquoise and Green is my favorite color combo.
I love wearing it/ I love it in my house.
I need more of it in my life.

I'm not sure how big these are.. too lazy to click and see..
but in my mind they are a perfect Queen sized bolster for my guest bed.

Love the ethnic vibe of this. Really I love the fringe.
And I normally hate fringe.
Now that I'm thinking about it... my kitchen sofa could fit a couple more pillows.
Oh, Happy Day... A new project!

Anyone know how to hang wallpaper??

"Lost and Found"

Rarely do I buy myself a treat. I can talk myself out of anything... Except I do need some skinny white jeans. If I find the perfect pair, I am allowed to buy them.
Girl's got a mortgage.
Yesterday, though, I found something I felt I deserved.
Something that I had to have.

It brings tears to my eyes.
Me and the Frida.
I'm searching for the perfect place in my house...
though I might just carry it around with me.

She has stunning prints.. and a sale right now.

I'm still in dreamland this morning... not 100% ready to start the whole work week thing. I do know how much I love this room though. Remember this from domino? This might have been the first time I saw the Chiang Mai dragon... and I still love it.
Barrie Benson is always one of my favorites. This spread was the wake up call on how much I love the mid- century style.
This space has such a great set up. Love the built- ins back there, the banquette, the view... not all there on the floors, but to each her own. They totally suit the house.
Such a happy place...

Happiest Friday!

Have you ever seen such in your life???
I must go there.

Today is going quite swimmingly so far!
TurnRow Books is hosting a party at Tallahatchie Flats tonight, and
we just scored tickets to FLAMING LIPS at Ground Zero!!!!
(that called for shouty capitals)

Hope y'all have the happiest of Fridays!

Sofa Love

While in Edgertown, a few of us went shopping one morning. We split up after a while.. two wanted to stay in a single store for 2 hours... and the rest of us went down the street and around the corner to a fabulous store called Tracker.
The store was recommended to us by our host; the owner is a dear friend of his. I only took one photograph here.. they were restyling the store so it is kind of a mess, but the one is extremely worthwhile.

I stared for a while, until I might have made a designer there uncomfortable. He said they had found the 1960's frame and thought about upholstering it in a neutral linen. Instead they created this fabulousness.

Because Why The Hell Not.

Schumacher's Chiang Mai dragon should be considered a neutral by now.

I hope it goes to a happy home.
She and Talulah would be best friends.

The Vineyard

I haven't been a complete slacker lately and just not posting... I have secretly been on a long awaited vacation.
And what a vacation it was.
5 of my college best friends (we were missing a couple) and I flew up north for a little jaunt in Martha's Vineyard.
Yes, it's ok to drool. It was as amazing as it sounds.
6 girls already in the depths of 90 degree southern temperatures... and needing a break from reality.. all of a sudden in the swankiness of "the vineyard".
Dancing all night, coffee in bed in the morning, champagne in the bathtub in the afternoon, lobsters for lunch.
And we were all ok with that.
So here is the PG version of our week in pictures....

The home of our gracious host, Uncle Dudley.

The Gingerbread houses in Oak Bluff

The first taste of heaven

Chocolates from Chilmark Chocolates...
That my father's dog ate when I returned.

Faulkner gets bourbon bottles, Belushi got wine.

The designer in me was dying.

The anchor andirons wouldn't fit in my suitcase.

Saying goodbye our last night.

I am a very blessed girl to have some of the best friends
and to go to one of the most beautiful places.
I'm ready for next year!
