Design Crush: Mallory Mathison Glenn

As I mentioned Monday, Atlanta Food and Wine Festival wasn't only food and wine and liquor and beer... There were also beautifully designed spaces, especially those in the Connoisseur Lounge, by Atlanta based interior designer, Mallory Mathison Glenn.
I had to email her to praise her for a wonderful job and ask how it felt to be chose for such a cool project! She did agree that those shrimp and grits were the bomb.

Just a glimpse into her portfolio:

A girl after my own heart, she obviously shows the importance of textures, heirlooms, SILVER!!, and art groupings. Her spaces seem personal and intimate... like they have been collected over years. And those dark glossy walls... her own personal bedroom. LOVE the boldness!
Check out her bio.. So impressive!
And after some successful stalking,I realized she designed one of my all time favorite rooms that I blogged about a year ago today! Crazy Town.

Last Night's Dinner

When your husband has a "lamb guy", and your favorite meat is lamb, and said husband surprises you with dinner/ lunch leftovers, you are a happy girl.

YUM! Gyros!!
{Lord! This week is obviously all about food!!}

Weekend Recap: AFWF Part 2

So. The food part of the weekend exploded on Friday night. Our friend, Donnie Ferneau, finagled our way into the John Besh/ John Currance/ Donald Link/ Scott Serpas Dinner.
Hello New Orleans!

I just have to take a minute to talk about about the bathrooms. They were separated by this wash station. Yes. I would be glad to wash my hands!
 The Masters plating dinner.
These guys are the best in the south in my opinion.
Nick worked for Donald Link at Herbsaint.

I am a big fan.

There was even a Second Line during desert!!!
The infamous one handed couple shot.
Ended with beignets. Please and Thank you.

And for the real reason we were in Atlanta...
MY MAN. Giving a demo on grilling lamb.

Sorry.. he just looked that hot. He's MINE.

We celebrated with shrimp and grits and amazing mini biscuits in the connoisseur's lounge.
And can we just look a second at the centerpieces? I did that years ago, and I still love it!
Restaurant Iris', Kelly English's goat tacos.

AND.. we found the Wine. Tents and Tents of food and wine. Yes, I had a  moment. Several in fact.
Nick's lamb guy was roasting this for late night.

More of the tent's with a hint of Angela English's awesome hair.
We finished the weekend with a trip to Holeman and Finch Public House, a Linton Hopkins restaurant. I only have one shot from the night because my stomach swelled up and I haven't been able to eat since.
I will tell you this: When someone in a badass restaurant offers you brains, you just do it.
I know you just gagged. But I've eaten them now.
And I feel much smarter.

Weekend Recap: AFWF Part 1

I haven't eaten since Saturday. No Lie. I think I stuffed myself, and my body can live off it's own fat for a while. Shouts out to Atlanta Food and Wine Festival! What an awesome experience. I was extremely proud of Nick and all of his hard work, and had the best time meeting other chefs and seeing old friends.
So... since I left you Friday, we discovered more street carts:

A dangerous sight.

Nick working.

A Moscow Mule. No Tequila for me.

I asked these guys if they would move in my front yard.
They declined, but we became very good friends over the next few days.

The Rig minus Willie.
He was missed.

I had been looking for this since I got to town.
I had a Blackberry Ginger Lemonade Pop.

The reason I asked those guys to move in my front yard.

Donnie Ferneau from Ferneau's in Little Rock.
New Best Friend.
He promises to come visit soon.

OK. Not only was there a bounty of food and wine and liquor and beer, but my fairy god mother (thank you Jane Crump!!) bestowed upon me the Connoisseur's Pass. That little ticket got me in this lounge.

Lots of Adler, Ikat and Suzani.. enough to make this girl feel right at home. I hung out here A. Lot.

I had to take a break this afternoon and recharge!
AFWF has been pretty awesome so far, and we still have 2 more days!
We went last night to a beautiful farm about 30 minutes outside of Atlanta for a party where we were fed by the Viking Cooking Team...

These guys walked up to me while I was eating.
I think they were upset about the grilled lamb.

No shots from the rest of the night, but the festival kicked off with a reception on the roof of the Loew's Hotel, then a group of us moved over to Hugh Acheson's Empire State South.
(Swayze, I told him you said hello!)
The restaurant was really awesome.. and had a boche ball court in the garden.

Nick's first event was at lunch today, and he completely rocked it.
Bluegrass, Bourbon and BBQ on the roof of the Four Seasons Hotel.

Lamb Andouille and Herbed Chevre
BBQ Shrimp Bahn Mi.

Ok.. Naptime.
