Week in Pictures

Shhhh....I have hijacked Nick's work computer while we are waiting for our battery to come in. Though I am sure I am not "supposed" to download photos onto it, I did anyway. We have had a wild week, and I have the photos to prove it!

We celebrated a day off by eating our weight in crawfish:

I've been doing a little painting:

I successfully pulled off JA of Greenwood's Cotton Ball Patron's Party with the help of a fabulous and way-more-organized-than-me co-chair and 8 other amazing ladies:

Nick came to help and just look good in general:

Little Man Ruffin came to see me (really Frida) on my birthday:

This is the beautiful antique locket Nick gave me for my bracelet:

And I am finishing out the week by getting ready for our annual fish fry this weekend!

I'm Old.

Sorry for the lack of post yesterday, but I was celebrating my birthday! Though saying "thirty- two" kind of makes my nose scrunch up, life just keeps getting better and better so no complaining here.
After a pancake breakfast in bed, I treated myself to a massage at the Alluvian Spa. Heaven. I learned there that I want/need a steam shower/ sauna. Wrote that on the dream house list.

Speaking of the wish list..
Thanks to my parents, this patio is coming to my backyard:

Exterior Courtyard eclectic landscape

These are on my face:

And while treating me to a fun just-the-two-of-us afternoon, Nick got me the most beautiful 1940's gold locket for my charm bracelet. Love it.
Happy Days!

Side note:
The battery on our computer is d.e.a.d. I have photos coming soon of furniture I have been painting and parties I've been throwing. And probably a few of Frida, because she is cute.

Decisions, Decisions

Sometimes I am the most desisive person you will ever meet. I can pick and choose like a pro. But then, there are times where I flip flop all over the place. This is one of those times: Choosing a Sofa.
I really want a John Richard sofa. Really Really bad. I love them- they are beautiful and cloud- like. Isn't that how you want to describe your couch?
But how to pick a style? I want this to be my "forever" piece... maybe to be recovered in 10 years, but to last a lifetime. Do I go unique and a little modern with a high back? (Not in these fabrics obviously)
Or Traditional and timeless?

Or a slight combination of the two?

Decisions, Decisions.
I would love to hear your opinions!

Friday Stalking: Angie Hraonwsky

I mention a lot about my love for good magazines.. House Beautiful (now that my Mississippi man is holding the reigns), Traditional Home, Southern Living and everyone's favorite, domino.. all hold special places in my home/files/lunch breaks.
One designer who keeps popping up in my "Home Inspiration" file is Angie Hranowsky from Charleston, South Carolina.(Hell Yeah, Southern Girl!!) I found her name once, and realized quickly that she is EVERYWHERE and does some seriously inspiring work.  I have been stalking her website and thought I would gift you with these beautiful spaces...

This is the difference I feel exists between designers
from other parts of the country and the south (sorry!).
Southerners decorate with pieces that seem REAL and found over time.
Whether ceramic pieces, books, or vintage lamps,
the room looks like it is curated over years, even decades.
Love this.. and strive for it.

Even with a gray, she is not afraid of BOLD.
Beautiful antiques clash harmoniously with the graphic drapes and modern touches.
And I hope you can keep those orchids alive. I cannot.
(Did you know that Mississippi's Spelling Bee champion won on the word "Orchid"?
Go Girl.)

Again. Color.
And Funk.
That cocktail table make me want to channel my inner cleptomaniac.
And that wall color is the color of my dining room.

Gallery Wall, Ehhhh.
Full Fledged Take Over of Art?
And hello, little cutie with your vintage camera,
Can I have the turquoise tufted stool, please?

Normally, not a fan of the leather.
But the caramelly orange, slate blue, white extravaganza seems new and clean.
I am a fan. I would spill red wine on that sofa (on accident).
I'm just being honest.

The main thing I want to talk about
(other than that awesome graphic cut out panel)
is the Conch painting to the left.
I feel like either my mother or my Mia had a conch
when I was growing up, and FYI.. I want it.
This room makes me like purple.
It might be the purple tulips.
Nick had me at hello with them.

Twin lamps+ clam shell= DONE.

Greenville Golf and Country Club has chairs (almost, but not really) like this.
I have wanted them since I was a child and head butted the glass doors there.
Main thing I noticed: Don't necessarily throw 2 lamps on your buffett.
Why have I been fighting this??

I didn't even put half of the photos I obsessed over on this website.
New Favorite, Angie! Love these spaces!

#3 A BRIGHT New Wish List

The hunt for a chandelier is a long and strenuous process. 2 and a half years after moving into this house, I am still armed and dangerous when it comes to finding the perfect piece for my dining room. I have found a few new wild ones...

and the (coming soon) living room.

black and white graphic look?

Yes, I am hunting entirely different beasts here.
Just showing off my indicisiveness.

Thanks to Rue Magazine and Copy Cat Chic for finding the first two!

The Doors are Open!

The doors are open at the new etsy shop, Dimestore Diamonds.
Remember, where I got my fabulous super- power ring?
This is my favorite necklace, "Bird of a Different Feather".
(Just wish that pug came with it.)

I also LOVELOVELOVE this one..
Aptly named the Superhero Necklace.
In my all time favorite color combo ever.

And in case you were wanting one of my rings....

You can go totally rockstar with a black one.

#2 High End Birthday Wish List

Update: One week until my birthday. It's a pretty big deal.
Just in case you were wondering, these are some things
that would make my big day even better:

The Jules Reid Baroness Dress.
It is from the fall collection, so it's on sale.
Just Sayin'.

Home Decorators Outdoor Rugs
Would looooove 2 of these for my patio.

2 of these from World Market.. at a much better price!

A Harry Allen Pig as a pet, please.
I love her, and I don't think she would make too big of a mess.

I would drink wine with my special
(ones who were careful) friends
out of these gorgeous goblets.
I have a small obsession with opaline.
And wine.

So this list was a little high end..
A girl can dream on her birthday, right?

#1 Birthday Month Wish List

Not that I am all that big on my birthday (cough, cough, bullshit)... It's coming up in a few weeks. 11 days to be exact. And while I am really truly blessed and don't NEED for anything.. I have a few wants.
Santa, Are you listening?

Love a wishbone.
And would love one on my charm bracelet.

Not just regular Aviators. This is MaryNeffWantsWhatHerBigBrotherHas.
I have yet to sucessfully steal them,
so I might have to get my own.
I think they are called Cockpits.
Drew, Confirm???

I Googled "Stack O Money" to get this picture. The caption under it was Drug Money. Love that.. I really just want it for a new sofa. And Fabric. But yall have seen pictures of that mess.
Also things that go under the "Stack O Money" column are.. built- ins in my dressing room, columns in my carport, fabric, a patio for my firepit....
and chairs.
Less Lawn More Garden eclectic landscape

Happy Friday, Friends!
Just be happy I am only subjecting you to HALF of my birthday month.
I am trying to grow up.
(cough, cough)

I Love...

All the really nice comments and NEW FOLLOWERS!!! from yesterday's post on Blueprint Bliss. It is a great feeling to have someone say such sweet things. Thanks for the start to a great week. I spent the day in Jackson yesterday working on a new project and also got a little window shopping in. Here are some things I love (in list form!)...

This fabric:

I said I wanted Olive and Turquoise?
Yes, I did. And this showed up today at Interior Fabrics.
Thank you, fabric gods, for listening.

These bundles of Happiness:
Keifer's is my Jackson happy place,
and I had an absolute blast there with my friend Traci.

These in my dryer:
AFTER, I have noticed that they have not bled on our whites.

Shingle samples:
Yeah, If I didn't have to pay for a new roof next week!
Ps. Nick thought the green was "cool".
No. I would rather not have a tennis court on my house.

These two best friends:
Frida and Ruffin LOVE each other. Pretty sweet, huh?

And in honor of Ruffin's favorite pastime...
Happy Humpday.

Green Bling.

Sometimes you are just in the right spot at the right time. Nick and I have had the opportunity to meet some seriously badass people in our lives, especially during the last few years that he has been with Viking.
Two of our favorites are the Bells from Little Rock. We walked into their house almost a year ago and became fast friends.... though there is no way you couldn't like them: a super talented chef/awesome dresser and a dancer/artist/maker of amazing jewelry. Amy is debuting her etsy store soon.. Dimestore Diamonds.. but I got this in the mail Friday...

It is my Green Lantern Superpower Ring.
I. Love. It.
I will keep you posted when Amy's store opens!
I'm pretty sure she will sell out quickly!

Secret Gardens

I love when my mom forwards me websites... though sometimes I am not sure if she is doing it to rub it in my face that I cannot afford such amazingness such as this.

Didn't you die a little bit?
Perfect- day kind of awesome.

Yes, Please. And perhaps a camel and a genie, too?

I wonder if that bunny comes with it.

I would have 5 of these spralled out at an outdoor wedding reception.

Go here to see more. And get a napkin for that drool.
